Should we all be worried by this heatwave?

Not trying to fun sponge. Respect to anybody out there enjoying it. But i honestly dont think it should be celebrated. I guess my question is this.... The previous record for May was 33.8 degrees. The temp yesterday was logged at 35.1 degrees. Thats shattered the previous record by 2.3 degrees. That in weather terms is surely a terrifying leap? From what i know small incremental changes in temperatures are to be expected and natural 0.1.0.2 etc.etc. But 2.3 has to unprecedented and a cause for real concern for the future? I mean should we all be worried?
