81-Year-Old Minecraft Streamer Swatted During Fundraiser for Grandson's Cancer Treatment

On the night of May 18, the Twitch channel of Sue Jacquot, an 81-year-old streamer known online as “GrammaCrackers,” became the target of a swatting incident. During a live stream, viewers watched armed police officers enter and search the room where the broadcast was taking place. Jacquot uses Twitch mainly to play Minecraft while raising money to help pay for her grandson’s cancer treatment. The stream was not stopped, and the next day the woman returned online to reassure her followers that she was fine, talking about the situation in her own unique way. Grandma Streamer Targeted by SWAT While Helping Grandson Fight Cancer Sitting next to her grandson, Jacquot described meeting the police officers: “The prettiest police woman I’ve ever seen. The beautiful eyes. So sweet. But I think she could kick butt if she needed to,” she safid with a smile. Far from looking shaken, the streamer described the event as an unusual experience: “They walked me out and I didn’t know what was going on, but it was kind of fun. And my kid and my grandkids were hugging me. You know, you can’t get that much attention normally. I was getting all kinds of hug. I was really eating it up. It was kind of fun.” As her grandson explained during the stream, the police response was huge: twenty police cars arrived, five SWAT officers were involved, and drones flew over the house. Even with such a large operation, the woman said she had “never felt so protected in my life,” adding that the officers acted respectfully and avoided touching the streaming equipment and cameras. Before the misunderstanding was cleared up, the woman even took her first ride inside a police car. “I met people I never would have met any other way,” she concluded, once again saying that, in her own way, “it was fun.” After everything was finished, Jacquot simply took an ibuprofen pill and “went to bed.”
