Adani Settles US Bribery Case for $18M

Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, has agreed to pay a total of $293 million to settle allegations of fraud and bribery in the US, bringing an end to a year-long legal saga. The settlement, which does not constitute an admission or denial of wrongdoing, is expected to clear the way for Adani's planned $10 billion investment in the US green sector. The agreement with the US Department of Justice (DOJ), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is seen as a significant step forward for Adani's business interests in the US.
