Buyer Beware: Le Creuset 😔

Buyer Beware: Le Creuset 😔
I splurged on a gorgeous 6.5qt Le Creuset Dutch oven this spring after my lodge Dutch oven bit the dust (totally my fault, melted a knife in it 🤦🏻‍♀️). After only 2 weeks of light use, developed a crack in the enamel. It was not been dropped. No thermal shock. Reached out to customer service, was told that it is not covered by warranty. I kept asking WHY isn’t covered, was told that I likely dropped it and that that’s not a covered issue. BUT I DIDN’T DROP IT. They are allowing a one-time courtesy replacement after I ship this one back, but I’m more frustrated that they won’t stand behind this expensive, supposedly top-of-the-line item. Should’ve gotten another cheap lodge ☹️ ETA: I was only trying to give others a fair heads up that this product may not be as BIFL as some may think. Instead I’m getting piled on because 1) I’m probably lying and actually dropped it or 2) I don’t know how to cook/I bake artisan bread like the majority of the world or 3) I’m ungrateful because what’s the big deal, they’re going to replace it anyway. The knife issue happened as a knife was inadvertently left in my lodge DO. I went to preheat it in the oven and it melted the handle. ETA2: Yes, I am grateful they are replacing the unit. But when they tell me their warranty is void because they allege I did something I did not do, and are just giving me a break because they’re nice guys, it leaves a bad taste. Do with that what you will, was just trying to give my experience! Seems like everyone knows how to cook/bake/wash dishes/exist better than me, so please enjoy your Le Creuset and I wish you better luck than I had 🙂
