CME Group Launches Compute Futures Market

In a recent interview, Terry Duffy, Chair and CEO of CME Group, discussed the launch of a new futures market for compute, in collaboration with Silicon Data. The new market aims to formalize compute as a commodity, providing risk management tools for hyperscalers and AI project creators. Duffy emphasized the importance of pricing transparency in this previously nontransparent market. The new contracts will initially focus on Nvidia's H100 GPUs, with the potential to expand to other products as they emerge.
