Flames' Ryan Strome signs off on his third and final night of Hockey Central Stanley Cup Playoffs coverage

So Strome's been pretty great! Love the insight from a NHL journeyman - an active player! - with lots of connections to the players & teams in the playoffs. I'm a huge fan who watches a ton of his podcasts+interviews so I'm very familiar with his knack for public speaking, but it's nice to see some media figures from around the hockey world give him some flowers too. He was also on the SN960 radio show & the hosts mentioned that he has zero TV training or broadcasting experience (besides the usual for a NHLer ofc). There was a ton of trust from Sportsnet to put him on the top panel slot for 3 days. Though interestingly enough, you probably won't see him doing this as a permanent job when he retires: Strome's said that he doesn't want to be a permanent TV analyst since that requires you to be brutally honest & critical of players, & given his own struggles in his career, he doesn't want to be the type that retires & suddenly has an opinion about everyone. Rather, he wants to be a podcaster or something more casual, where he can explore player's personalities & showcase what they've overcome to get there :D To quote him from SN960: "You know what I said to my dad & my brother [about getting the TV gig]? ... 'This is finally a reward for watching sports my entire life growing up... I just sat in front of the TV & watched sports from age of 4 to 16.'"
