I spent two years living in my car due to poverty from disability status. Inheritance hit mid April, and I fell in love with this fenced half acre property just under a 5 minute walk away from the Rio Grande within a week of searching. This property sat abandoned for 14 years after the previous owner passed away, but not before they built a generous 600 sqft workshop in the back, had the roof rebuilt, and some other maintenance items that helped it survive leak and damage-free until now. The manufactured home is 55 years old, 1971, so the bank wouldn't finance it, which put it in an awkward place where everyone who would want a home like this couldn't afford it in cash, and the people who had the cash were looking to finance something nicer. Original asking was $120k, but with no competition, I got the seller to plunge another $7k below their minimum. I'm looking forward to starting my little dream homestead, and with enough cash left to build a tiny home, I can start fresh if the trailer gives me any major fuss.
