I made my best friend’s wedding dress!

Hello all! As there are always a ton of wedding dress posts I thought I’d share my project! It all started with my best friend being indecisive (as usual) and picking out parts of dresses she liked but hadn’t found anything as a whole. And before I could stop myself, I said, “I could make that”. 6 months of trial and error, design changes, blood, sweat and tears, but I am so incredibly proud of the end product (as was the bride!). Tears all round from lots of family over how beautiful she looked! Dress details - made in two pieces for ease - steel boned corset based on Corsets by Caroline’s Elsa pattern, with cotton twill lining, coutil strength layer, 2x ice wool for extra smoothness and then draped poly satin with detachable sleeves for essential boogieing later. Skirt is a half circle skirt with slight gathering, out of same poly satin with cotton lining. I made waistband curved so that the basque waist of the corset wouldn’t flatten the gathers. Also made the matching bows for her shoes! Oh, and I also made my green MOH dress, out of faux silk charmeuse (worse fabric ever but came out stunning), using Studio Sadoe’s foxglove pattern.
