Kayaking the Hackensack

Yes, I want to Yak the Sack. I'm thinking of getting dropped off around New Bridge Road in Teaneck and paddling down to Laurel Hill Park in Secaucus. I'd plan ahead to start my paddle when the tide is rising. Is there anything physically or legally preventing me from doing this? I've already paddled everywhere else around here. I already do the coast guard required stuff like wear a PDF, wear a whistle and bring a flashing white light if I'm going to be out after dark. Thanks in advance.
