Massie Loses Kentucky Primary to Pro-Israel, Pro-Trump Opponent

Thomas Massie, a Republican representative from Kentucky, lost his primary election after facing a well-funded challenge from Ed Gallantine, a candidate backed by pro-Israel and pro-Trump groups. Massie, known for his independent stance and voting against the "one big beautiful bill" last year, had previously won primaries with significant margins. However, this time, he faced an unprecedented $20 million in opposition spending, primarily from commercials attacking him and boosting Gallantine. Massie conceded the race, stating that he had called Gallantine to do so. With Massie's defeat, along with Marjorie Taylor Greene's earlier loss, pro-Israel groups like AIPAC celebrated the victories of Gallantine and Clay Fuller, who they believe will be "pro-Israel voices" in Congress.
